The machine was easy to set up and works well both as a fax and as a printer. At first, I thought I was only going to use it as a fax machine, but my desktop went on the blink and I replaced it with a notebook running Windows 7 starter edition. I found the drivers online, downloaded them, and used the machine to print some maps & e-mails. It prints very quickly — much more so than the HP LaserJet 6P I have.

Had this faxphone l90 for 1 year. Pickup roller will not pick up paper.

Machine is broken.

Look elsewhere for a fax machine.

I’ve been long time user of laser printers, but this is my first all-in-one laser printer. It works good as laser printer and copy machine but disapointed in fax. It produces nice print very fast as printer and copier. So far so good! However, I’ve a serious issues in fax. First problem is ring volume not adjustable, even after 0(my intention was turn off) setting, still ringing so loud. Second issue is fax speed not adjustable. I use a MagicJack for my house phone line that uses VoIP. MagicJack surgested to use slowest speed for faxing over VoIP. I’ve exchanged few emails with Canon tech support but the customer service person was not knowledgeble. I’ve gave up on them. In conclusion, it’s good laser copier and printer for the money if you don’t mind loud ringing.

I wish I had thought to look at print cartridge reviews when I purchased my printer. It would have definitely been a factor to consider when deciding on the best choice of equipment and company. The reviews here are completely accurate in terms of how quickly this cartridge runs out of ink. We only recently installed our HP wireless printer and already the black ink cartridge is almost completely empty.

Suppose this Canon L90 is located in my upstairs office, but right now I'm in the downstairs kitchen preparing lunch. The phone rings, & when I pick up the extension phone in the kitchen, there is a beep, meaning it's a fax.

With my ancient Panasonic, I simply press Star-9 (* 9), and the fax-phone in my office takes over & begins to print the incoming fax. I don't have to leave the kitchen, and can pick up the print-out at any time.

But with the Canon L90, in order not to lose the incoming fax, I have to run through the house, up the stairs to my office, and press a button on the L90; then I have to run back down to the kitchen (IIRC within 30 seconds) and hang up the extension phone in the kitchen. What a pain in the butt!

The L90 might be OK if you have a separate & dedicated telephone line exclusively for faxes, but it is just plain unacceptable for someone who has a single telephone line with one or more extensions (we have 6 phones in all).

I installed this cartridge in my printer in June and it has already run out, in less than two months. I do very little printing. The cartridge that came with the printer lasted 5 months.

The one review for the 901XL indicates that it is not any better.

My best estimate is that I have printed about 40 pages, in efficiency mode, and my HP 901 black cartridge is almost empty. Also, by the way, the software that comes with the HP J4680 Officejet printer is, essentially, unusable. I am not able to scan at all, for about eight different reasons. It’s not just that it’s hard to use — It friggin’ doensn’t even work! I’ve just purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements in the hopes that I will be able to scan with it.

I will NEVER buy another HP product.

Great fax and copier. Quiet and energy efficient. Automatically ignores non-fax calls. So far, very reliable, with no problems. Toner cartridge cost is reasonable.

It came with my HP printer and I was shocked by how quickly it ran out. I have never had an ink jet cartridge run out so quickly. Cough up the extra money for the HP 901XL and save in the long run.

I don’t print very much and this cartridge only lasts a couple months.

What a rip off.

HP says 200 Pages, there is no way I printed 100 on economical setting
